Graduate Students

Footpath through the redwoods at the University of California Santa Cruz campus

Becoming a graduate student is a major life decision that requires a great deal of dedication.

Advising graduate studies is a multi-year undertaking and therefore, research compatibility is essential. I would consider working with prospective graduate students in the areas of human rights, Perú, transnational feminism in Latin America, intersectionality, and activism in the Americas.

I adopt a group mentoring model with students and try to meet on a fairly regularly basis (i.e., weekly) during the academic year. In the summer, I am generally unavailable to meet with graduate students.

Requesting an Independent Study should be done at least one quarter in advance. Email Professor Falcón for guidelines.
