Undergraduates

Dr. Falcon with Students

The Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) Department at University of California, Santa Cruz

I enjoy working with students who are LALS majors or minors. LALS offers an undergraduate degree with an engaging curriculum that prepares students for a wide-range of careers in government, education, non-profits, journalism, and more. LALS brings together the study of Chicano/a and Latino/a communities in the United States with those in Latin America and the Caribbean. We do this integration through an analysis of the histories, politics, cultures, and societies of the region. LALS courses are engaging, thought-provoking, and provide students with a holistic understanding of the world.

I also work closely with undergraduate researchers in the Human Rights Investigations Lab from across the campus in a range of majors and departments. I look forward to working with you at UC Santa Cruz! Go Slugs!

The LALS website offers more insight into the unique undergraduate experience we offer our students.
